Hatch and Take Flight
Mission
To document and share cross-cultural learning experiences in a global forum and to help bridge the digital gap; connecting those whose opportunities for advancement are enabled by Internet access and those whose possibilities for development are limited by inaccessibility. All artists, teachers, students, parents and members of the global community are invited to contribute to the dialog through the exchange of word and image.
Objectives:
In partnership with 100 Projects for Peace, the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club and the Sing'isi Village School- Teach computer and Internet literacy to those with limited access
- Facilitate the implementation of a synchronized intercontinental art curriculum
- Document the eight-week project and post updates online as it develops
- Provide webspace for artists without Internet access to exhibit their work
- Arrange and publicize art shows that benefit the artists and their communities
- Advocate on behalf of the artists to ensure fair trade
- Promote peace raising cultural understanding and global awareness
